Irresponsibility is the reason for many ills that we have, not the fact that stuff is not pirvoded for them. People will put forth the effort for things that are important to them. Think about people that smoke. They will do anything to get those cigarettes because they are important to them. For many people there are things that can be given up to get things like health insurance.I would also like to know how many people that do not have health insurance have steady work or are they people that quit jobs every other month because they get mad at nothing or the job is beneath them. I have a BS and MBA degree. I found myself a few years back in dire straits because of the oil bust here in OK. Also WorldCom tanking because of corrupt leadership made thousands of us unemployed. We were fighting for call center jobs which pay maybe 2/3 of the rate that the coasts pay. WE HAD HEALTH INSURANCE at our meager salaries ($100/month). Those days ended over two years ago, thank God. POint being is that many people can talk poor and talk like they cannot afford this or that. If you check their budgets you find there is fat that can be cut off.I would also advise anyone to fight for their health. As Z stated it will cause problems for people if they have too many pre-existing conditions. Funny that insurance is only offered for people that do not need to use it. I am in decent health but a little overweight for premium rates for life insurance. I am working to change that so I can lower my insurance payments.We do what we want to. I absolutely refused to believe that all those millions of people did not have health insurance because they could not get it. If many had made better financial choices they could afford it. Then you have young folk making a lot of money that would rather pay for Starbucks, movies and other entertainment activities. I’m sure there is more evidence that less than 5% of us are truly needy when it comes to getting health insurance.
